AST will provide excellent knowledge and on-the-job training in the field of Principles of Industrial automation control systems. In particular these training modules, already provided to internal staff can be also provided to hosted researchers:

1) SAFETY (in accord with Job security legislation) and Risk and safety management using Profi-Safe programming tools;

2) SPECIFICATION and ARCHITECTURES of Electrical Standard industrial Machinery;

3) DESIGN and BUILD: Basic knowledge of power supply for medium and large size plants;

4) INSTALL and MAINTAIN: project management for medium and large size industrial plant installations;

5) Step7 Siemens programming, Closed loop controls actuators;

 

FLU will provide excellent knowledge and on-the-job training in the field of vacuum coating techniques. Flubetech is an expert company in vacuum coating processes applied to various industrial fields. It was aspin off of the University Ramón Llull (Barcelona) to put in the market novel chemical vapour deposition technologies. With the course of time, the company has incorporated new advanced vacuum coating technologies and expertise to enlarge its presence in markets of high added value. The company can offer the scientific and industrial oriented expertise of its staff (it counts on two technical school lecturers). The company also provides advanced courses of surface engineering in cooperation with University Ramón Llull and University of Barcelona. These courses will be available for the host fellows.

 

POLIMI. The research group on “Water and Wastewater Treatment Technology” promotes research and development for advanced waste water treatment and technologies and has its core activity in LCA methodologies and in translational research due to close relationships between POLIMI and industrial partner of the University. The CMIC Department conjugates competences in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Materials with Energy, Sustainability and Health. The scientific focus oriented to solve problems on dimensional scales ranging from those of molecules to large industrial plants.

Following topic will be transferred during the project to the seconded researchers:

1) Know-how on lab-scale experiments for testing new materials, equipment and operational parameters of electro-dewatering of sewage sludge and field scale planning and operation of pilot-scale test runs;

2) Methodology for the evaluation of the economic and environmental sustainability of the proposed equipment for sewage sludge electro-dewatering;

3) Valorization of research results, technology incubation and technology transfer.

 

AIN. The research group on “Advance Surface treatments” at AIN_TECH promotes research and development for advanced functionalized surfaces in different industrial applications. Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD), Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) and ion implantation devices encompass the surface modification lab of AIN. Finally, the characterization lab of AIN is fully equipped with analytical techniques; from chemical and microstructural analysis to mechanical and optical properties evaluation. Following knowledge and training will be transferred during the project to the seconded researchers: 1) PVD processes for coating anodes (compression, electrical conductance, corrosion resistance); 2) Specific Characterization methods for corrosion resistant coatings; 3) Chemical understandings of nanocomposite processing for membranes; 4) Up scaling strategies for conductive coatings and master batches; 5) Valorization of research results, technology incubation and technology transfer.
